Short: Software bundle for Prelude soundcard Author: Thomas Wenzel (www.toms-home.de) Uploader: toms-aminet-upload toms-home de (see note below) Type: driver/audio Version: 4.0 Architecture: m68k-amigaos Note: Aminet admins only: Use address from [Uploader] field to contact me All others: Use the email address stated on my homepage www.toms-home.de This is a repack for better compatibility with a wider range of (un)archivers. Most important: Should I install this? If not, which version should I use? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A: prelude.library 5.4, PreludeAHI 6.35 and all the other packages from http://www.toms-home.de/prelude-dl_e.shtml This is the oldest but also most stable and heavily tested drivers and software you can get for your Prelude soundcard. If you're currently running this and are satisfied then don't change a running system! One drawback: The AHI driver requires AHI v6 and doesn't work with AHI v4. B: prelude.library 5.6, PreludeAHI 6.37 and all the other packages on AmiNet These are advanced and anhanced versions by Oliver Gantert, mainly for his PreludeZII+ project but also backwards compatible with the original PreludeZII and Prelude1200 soundcards. All these drivers work with AHI v4 and support connecting the Prelude1200 to a clock port expander which assigns a different address to the card. So if you need one of these features it's worth giving this set of drivers a try. C: Prelude Software Bundle V4 (this archive) This is a fork of the last release by me before Oliver Gantert took over to improve and refactor it and to include support for his new Prelude ZII+ soundcard. I've tried to fix all the bugs which Oliver also fixed in his branch. Along the way I took the opportunity to implement a watchdog which can resume a broken and stalled data transfer on its own. This can happen during some ZZ9000 graphics operations for example. The watchdog can't prevent the sound from being interrupted for a short time but after that it will resume automatically instead of just hang. I've set the version number back to 4 to reflect the AHI v4 support and to clearly separate it from Olivers branch. So if you experience unexpected hangups during playback, or if you're just adventurous, this is the version to try. :) If you're using an Amiblaster Deluxe soundcard, this version is also the one to choose.
