Write to bjorn@team17.com --- snip --- --- Original text file from the archive --- "The Forbidden Desert" - by BJORN LYNNE --------------------------------------- This song was written, performed and produced over a 56-hours almost non-stop working session (I just took time out to eat, shower and a few hours sleep), from the 6th till the 8th of September, 1997. This song will be part of my next CD album "Wizard of the Winds", to be released on the Cyclops/GFT label in March 1998. The album will be based on the fantasy novel "Wizard of the Winds" by Allan Cole. (In the UK, the book is titled "When the Gods Slept"). I'm writing pieces of music inspired by the different places, characters and happenings in the book. The Forbidden Desert is a vast desert that separates the humans from the demons. Long ago, the king of kings, Alisarrian, cast a spell over the Forbidden Desert, making it impossible to cross for humans and demons alike, so that there would be no trouble and warfare between the two races. This song is about the Forbidden Desert itself, as well as the demon Sarn and his success in defying the ancient spell and crossing the desert that had not been crossed for hundreds of years. The equipment used to produce this song was: - Kurzweil K2500 synthesizer & sampler - Yamaha VL70-m synthesizer (with breath controller) - Novation Bass Station - Aria Pro 2 electric bass guitar - Squier Fender Stratocaster electric guitar - Peavey Rock Master Tube Guitar Preamp - Jim Dunlop wah-wah pedal - Alesis ADAT 8-track digital tape recorder - Various effect units - About 60 cans of coca cola. :-) Everything written and played (and consumed) by Bjorn Lynne.
