Short: TOP quality 8svx sample of flies buzzing. Uploader: jawil aid no (Jan Roger Wilkens) Type: mus/smpl ----------------------------------- SOUND SAMPLES OF FLIES Amiga-ed by Espen Beranek Holm ----------------------------------- Flies.svx 524148 Architecture: generic I found these flies on a DAT the other day. I don't know where they came from in the first place, I didn't record them! I don't like flies or other bugs on my tapes either, but these small creatures sound quiet facinating - especially on a rather high output level! The flying things were transferred digitally from DAT to an Akai S-1100 equipped with a digital I/O board. Furthermore they were transferred to the Amiga and Samplitude Professional via MIDI Sample Dump. (Yes, I was going to have a break anyway....) In Samplitude Professional the flies were resampled at 24.131Hz and converted to 8 bits. Finally they were exported as 8svx files. The resampling was done in order to save space *AND* keep a respectable sound quality (compared to the original 16 bit (flies) file). In this way, the flies have not left the digital domain on their journey to a new life as 8-bit Amiga samples. NOTE! Please beware that Samplitude, for some strange reason, exports the IFF-sounds with a default volume setting of 0 (zero). I haven't changed this. Enjoy! Espen Beranek
