The high adventure. The danger. The tremendous broadsides from 24 pounders. The skull and Crossbones riding high on its black field. The hard rum and harder women. The ten pieces of gold. And the feather in the hat and gold earring. The swish of a well held cutlass. The crack of muzzle pistol. The smell of black powder. Those were the days, me heartie. Most ended up on the yardarm or dead from other pirate related causes. But, to this day, the legend of the pirates of yore lingers on. Do pirates live today? They do. But now they wear business suits. This picture is a little more honest. Picture By Jake from The RAGTIME Archives. Dennis Jacobson JAKE Productions
