Short: SysSpeed module for 3000+CyberStormPPC Author: kstrauser@pcis.net (Kirk Strauser) Uploader: kstrauser pcis net (Kirk Strauser) Type: util/moni Architecture: m68k-amigaos SysSpeed 2.6 module for an A3000 with: CyberStormPPC 604e/200 + 060/50 96MB of fast RAM: 64MB of 60ns EDO on CS-PPC 16MB on DKB 3128 16MB on motherboard (AmiFast w/ 60ns EDO SIMMs) Picasso II IBM 4.3GB U/W SCSI HD on CS-PPC's SCSI bus Some results are less than outstanding, i.e. the graphics and drive speed tests. This is mainly because: 1) The Picasso II can only be used with CyberGraphX v2.x, as v3.x doesn't support it very well (terrible graphic artifacting). 2) The Picasso II isn't very fast to begin with. Bring on the CyberVisionPPC, already! :) 3) I'm using the TD64 version of FFS on the hard drive. Since this uses direct-SCSI commands, I can't use disk cache software (that I know of). Other than that, I can copy directories of large files to RAM: at a sustained rate of about 12MB per second, so it's still a reasonably quick drive. ;) Feel free to send me comparison modules!
