Translating

The user interface uses Qt's .ts files; help content is moving to DocBook for translation via KDE's standard tooling. To start a UI translation:

  1. Clone the source: git clone https://github.com/fontmatrix/fontmatrix.git

  2. Configure with cmake -DTRANSLATOR=<locale>.

  3. Run make translation.

  4. Open fontmatrix-<locale>.ts in Qt Linguist and translate.

  5. Run make install to test.

If your language is right-to-left or uses non-Latin script, Fontmatrix should handle that without special configuration.
