Very nice picture. Just two remarks. IMHO 1. human figures are too simple for a picture with that ammount of detail, and 2. a child is not a scaled down adult, but it has different proportions.
Head/total height ratio: adult = about 1/8; 5 year-old child >= 1/5.5; 10 year-old child >= 1/6; 14 year-old child(?) < 1/7; etc.
I can send you the tables of human proportions, if you are interested.

Nice story, and good looking picture after adjusting gamma as you recommend :-)
Dealing with plain coloured objects is not easy and you made a good job with this.
However you could improve the results differenciating more your textures: wood on the
left and gray stain on the cranes.

Nice detail on the cranes.  My only suggestions for improvement is to have more variety in the workers and the steam needs more work.  I also like the gradient in the sky.

I love the technical detail of your image. I would have preferred to see a bit 
more work done on the textures. Much of them seem to lack a certain depth to them.
You did a good attempt at creating the steam plumes, but they still look somewhat 
off to my mind's eye. <grin> Then again, you likely have more experience with them 
than I do. :{)

The smoke from the pipe looks like it comes from above, flip it Y-axis perhaps...
