Unfortunatley, I judged assembling the parts in photoshop to be a cheat. If you 
were having difficutlties with memory, you could have rendered them individually,
and placed them into your scene as image maps. Assembly after rendering does not, 
in my mind, constitute keeping within the intent of the competition.
All that aside, I think you've done some amazing work here, and look forward to 
seeing what you can produce in the future. :{)

That's some excellent modelling there.
I don't quite see which parts you assembled in Photoshop, as they almost all throw
shadows on each other. Although the assembling is borderline, I will not hold
it against you in my voting, as I don't consider it as postprocessing to improve
the result of your image.
