good modelling, poor texturing. Especially the metal is too perfect, looks
like a plastic model

From djconnel@flash.net:

Nice image! A small weakness are the color bands going to the horizon --
this should be a smoother gradient. Otherwise the sky is nicely done.
The modelling is very nice, although the objects look a bit plastic.
I would really like to see the animation -- it's too bad that can't
be shown here.

Create one object and duplicate to ad-naseum... if the dishes had been
rotated slightly in the array, it would have been less obvious that all
of them were the same CSG.

From agage@mines.edu:
I like the image, though the scene looks very flat. The metal does not have
any specular appearance or reflection, and there are no ground shadows, which
might help give a sense of depth.

Very nice. I like the amount of detail you have in the framework supporting the radio dishes. The image is just a little drab though; maybe if there was some sort of logo/text on the dishes you could have added in as well? or even just a "grime" texture overtop of the basic white/grey colour of the telescopes...

Great concept, beautiful execution. I've always loved looking at the VLA, and
this is a faithful representation of it. I especially love the ground--very
authentic. If I had any criticism, it would be that the 'scopes looked a tiny
bit too smooth and perfect, but I don't know how you would fix that--maybe a
micro texture on the surface, maybe a bit of atmospheric haze, a touch of
focal blur, I dunno. The picture is very close to photographic quality as it
is, so I'd probably just muck it up. <grin> Excellent job.

I really like the sky and mountainous background.
In spite of the detailed modelling on the telescopes, they seem
unrealistic -- like models instead of large structures. Can't
figure out why... maybe because they're monochromatic and
dirt-free?

Pretty good CSG work.
Intersting description. Something about Golomb rulers?

An excellent image. Well Done.

Very nice one, also good camera and quite appropriate lighting.

Nice, stark composition.

The detail of the framework is very good. The stairs are nice. What are the ladders to nowhere?

I love radio telescopes :)
Notable for composition
