I like how the plants seem to be lit from the inside

Water striders disturb the water's surface (depress it).

like the eerie glow...
the ripples are too tiny.

nice crustacia, but the image is too symmetical

Very flat for 3D Studio Max

I can't tell from your description what is original work and
what is prefab models here.

The clouds should obscure the moon.

With some work, this could be a quite good scene -- the
novelty of the subject lends it a lot of interest.

From bill@apocalypse.org:
symmetrical to a fault, pretty though

From fisher2@pobox.upenn.edu:
Too many of the same object used cut down on the tech score for me. I
really liked the surreal lit from beneath effect in this scene. Too much
gray. Addition of more colors complimenting the colors already in the
scene would be nice.

From gmccarter@hotmail.com:
Unusual image. Everything is very luminescent, glowing.

From r@199.45.245.103:
Very intriguing. I really like it. I do think it is a bit too visually noisy- if the water were at maybe 30% of its current reflectiveness, I think that would be solved.
Notable for originality
