Nice image, though I dont see why it took so long to render... Hand made stuff is always a treat. :)

Good job on the render farm--I suspect if we ever get a good cross-platform
networkable POV-Ray, we're going to hear lots of begging on the net come
IRTC deadline time!

I really like the painted look of the lake and the cavern; but the chair
texture doesn't really stand up to that style.

I really cannot see what might have taken _that_ long to render this. There are
no obvious interreflections, Only thing I could think of was heavy swapping on
the machines.
You should probably reduce the antialiasing threshold. And from the looks of
things there is really only 1 light source that contributes to visible shadows,
so that can be turned off for all other light sources.
Due to the one predominent lightsource directly overhead and very high ambient
setting and "dull" texture colors the whole image appears very "flat".
Black pixels all over the image sounds like an overclocked CPU that does no
longer do correct FP calculations. ;)

Try as I might, I REALLY can't see why this would require 14 days of rendering on a render farm...

Certainly many artifacts at the extreme sides of the image. Easy to tell where the various sub-renderings were pasted together.
