You've gotta love those photons.  Interesting idea for an image, but there are a few aspects that I would like to make some suggestions about.  About the lighting, the photons look great, but the shadows cast by your object a rather flat.  Try out some area lighting to soften those up.  In regards to the haze in the background, try enclosing it in a cylinder or other rounded shape to create a curving appearance; it looks a bit blocky at the moment.  Good work though, and thanks for entering.
