Also an effective interpretation of the concept, although I feel this to be a lot more conventional. A suggestion: add the shadow only of a bird, by using no_image. Imo, the scene would have been more stricking.

An excellent work of art.  The theme is at work in more than just the one obvious sense of the cage’s inhabitant having departed.  The inclusion of a single non-monochromatic element heightens the drama of  the "absence" of color in the rest of the composition.  The visual weights of empty and filled spaces are well balanced in a fine composition with a laudable "absence" of clutter. Bravo!
Notable for originality, composition
