The IESG approved publication of Internet Group Management Protocol, Version 2 as a Proposed Standard, pending Scott's review. Steve to send announcement. 3. The IESG approved publication of Augmented BNF for Syntax Specifications: ABNF as a Proposed Standard. Steve to send announcement. 4. The IESG approved publication of Using Domains in LDAP/X.500 Distinguished Names as a Proposed Standard. Steve to hold off sending the announcement until the LDAPv3 documents are approved. 5. The IESG approved publication of Support for IP over ATM - UNI Signalling 4.0 Update as a Proposed Standard. Steve to send announcement. 6. The IESG approved publication of Representing the O/R Address hierarchy in the X.500 Directory Information Tree as a Proposed Standard with the following changes: o Figure 1 in the document be replaced with Figure 1 from RFC 1836 and o The Security Considerations text be replaced with the following text: This protocol introduces no known security risks. 7. The IESG recinded the approval of A One-Time Password System (approved in September) due to questions raised during the review of the Implementation Report. 12. The IESG approved creation of the RSVP Admission Policy (rap) Working Group in the Transport Area. Prior to announcing, Steve to update the charter so that the last paragraph reads: In pursuit of these goals, the working group must expressly avoid specifying policy behavior. The judgment of specific policies is similarly beyond the scope of the working group. The working group will, however, specify mechanisms that allow for a wide variety of possible policies to be carried out. 13. The IESG approved creation of the S/MIME (smime) Working Group in the Security Area. 14. Harald is still attemping to gather information on the Ukrainian character set documents. Steve to send note to RFC Editor requesting an indefinite hold on the demchenko and tkachuk documents. 15. The IESG had no problem with the publication of Japanese Character Encoding for Internet Messages as an Informational RFC. Steve to send note to RFC Editor. 16. The IESG had no problem with the publication of the following document series as Informational RFCs: PKCS #1: RSA Encryption Version 1.5 PKCS #10: Certification Request Syntax Version 1.5 PKCS #7: Cryptographic Message Syntax Version 1.5 Steve to send announcement. 17. The IESG felt that the Radius Working Group should review RADIUS Attributes for MS-CHAP Support prior to reaching any decision on publication. Steve to notify RFC Editor. 18. The IESG directed Steve to send a note to the RFC Editor conveying their desire that the text of RFC2184 be replaced with the text of draft-freed-pvcsc-new-00.txt as it corrects mistakes in the published version, notifying them of a mis-spelled word to correct. 19. The IESG approved publication of Definitions of Managed Objects for IEEE 802.3 Medium Attachment Units (MAUs) using SMIv2 as a Proposed Standard. Steve to send announcement.
